Church Point Person

Updated: Jul 25

Connecting Compassion Across New England

Each participating church designates a Church Point Person to serve as the bridge between their congregation and Nazarene Compassionate Ministries New England (NCM NE). This simple yet vital role helps strengthen communication, engagement, and connection across our district.

Role Overview

The Church Point Person connects their local church with NCM NE’s growing movement of compassion. They help ensure that information, opportunities, and encouragement travel both ways — bringing district resources and updates to their church, and lifting up local stories, needs, and insights to the wider network.

Key Responsibilities

● Stay Connected – Participate in occasional network updates, gatherings, or check-ins.

● Share Information – Help your congregation stay aware of NCM NE initiatives, Interest Groups, and upcoming events.

● Lift Up Local Stories – Communicate what your church is doing in compassionate ministry so others can learn, collaborate, and celebrate.

● Encourage Engagement – Invite members to join Interest Groups, trainings, or service opportunities that fit their gifts.

● Build Community – Foster relationships that strengthen unity, care, and shared purpose across churches and ministries.

Why It Matters

This role is intentionally low-demand but high-impact. By staying connected and sharing information, Point Persons help weave a stronger fabric of compassion across New England. Each connection helps us learn from one another, celebrate progress, and serve our neighbors more effectively—living out the call to love God and love others in practical, visible ways.
