One of my “life verses” 2 Corinthians 3:18: “And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”

 

My name is Jon Scott. I  graduated from Olivet Nazarene University, married Margaret and  joined the Peace Corps as a volunteer in Brazil. I learned Portuguese and worked among coastal fishermen to start cooperatives.

 

Then we served over 30 years as Global missionaries with the Church of the Nazarene, living in post-revolution Portugal and Romania, where we partnered with non-profits to deliver care, food, educational opportunities and hope to those recovering from oppressive regimes. I was director of Nazarene Compassionate Ministry/Romania and helped establish the Romanian Studies Program of ENC. In Mozambique I facilitated ministerial training and in Malawi, as Principal of Nazarene Theological College, I welcomed refugees from a large UNHCR camp near the campus as students. In 2019, God led us to resettle in Massachusetts.

 

I continue part-time work at the New England District Office and as a volunteer on the NED NMI Council and on boards of Esther R. Sanger Center of Compassion and the local church board, at North Street Community Chapel, Hingham.
